New Library Website!

We’re excited to announce the launch of our new and refreshed website. Just a few days before the beginning of the Fall semester, Bell Library launched an improved website with all new content and organization.

If you’ve visited the library home page recently, you might not have noticed much change. We kept the same look and feel for the home page that was launched in January 2018. You’ll find most of the major changes by poking around in the menu or clicking on links found on the home page.

Updated and improved content

We re-wrote and re-formatted every piece of content on the website. Gone are the endlessly long paragraphs of text. Now, we hope you’ll be able to quickly scan the information to find just what you’re looking for.

Better organization of content

In addition to re-writing the content on all our web pages, we also reorganized those pages. Part of our goal was to create multiple ways to find information. For example, you can find interlibrary loan information in the main menu at the top, links on the home page, and on multiple other pages. We hope this helps you easily find the information you are looking for.

We also grouped different pieces of content together. For example, in the middle of the home page you will find a box labeled “Resources for…” where you will find links to pages for Off-Campus UsersUndergraduate StudentsGraduate Students, and Faculty. When you click on one of these options, you’ll discover a list of pages organized into categories curated for each user type.

New web pages created

Finally, to help find information on topics we get asked a lot, we created a few completely new web pages for information that was either never included on the library website or was lumped in with other information making it difficult to find.

Here are some of the new and improved web pages.

Checkouts, Renewals, and Fines

This information was already on our website, but it wasn’t easy to find or once you found the page, to find the information you needed on the page. Now we have a handy table that makes finding checkout lengths, max number of items that can be checked out, renewals, and late fees a breeze.

I-Create Lab

We already had some basic information about the I-Create Lab, but now we have a whole suite of information. You’ll find everything from prices for using equipment, policies for using the lab, details on all the equipment available, and much more.

Media and Film

Did you know the library offers both DVDs checkouts and streaming movies? Not many people do. But now you can visit our new Media and Film page to learn more about these great services.

Requesting Materials

From requesting a book or DVD be held for you, to requesting an item be loaned from another library, to requesting the library purchase a book for the collection. With our new Requesting Materials page, you can find all the options available to you.

Rooms and Spaces

Bell Library offers so many great spaces to study, collaborate, and learn. Now you can find details on all of these great spaces from our computer labs to the Daily Read Café.

These are just a few examples of the helpful information you can now find on the new and improved library website. Check it out today!

We would love your feedback
