Online Classes in Quarantine

How I Feel?

People think that classes would be a lot easier when they are online, because we are stuck at home every day, right? Well, it’s actually a lot harder than I had expected, especially field base classes that happen to be my higher courses.

The lack of motivation I’ve had to complete lesson plans, papers, discussion forums and other endless amounts of work is more than I had anticipated. How can you physically gather yourself to attempt to complete these assignments when there are people dying and losing necessities over a virus that we didn’t see coming?

I ask myself everyday if completing these assignments right now is even worth it. I used to enjoy lesson plans, knowing I was going to be teaching it to students. Now, we’re not able to share what we’ve developed with those students. Despite this, I can see that it is important to get these tasks done as we normally would. If we don’t, we’ll lose ourselves through all of this, and our education.

I have hope that this will be over, and we will go back to the way life was. It will take time, but we will become more appreciative of everything and smarter in the way we do things. This virus was an eye opener for us all.

How I’m Really Handling it

So, what has been helping me lately through all of this? Google Keep.

There are other ways you can keep track of your work, such as a planner, but I found Google Keep to be a lot more useful since online classes.

This particular website helps you keep track of anything you want. If you want to keep track of your workouts or make a list of foods you need to buy, you can do all of that on Keep. Some teachers, discovered through Pinterest, personalize theirs to make it look nice (see the first photo of this post), but I have kept mine simpler. It’s mainly due to the fact I can’t seem to figure out how to make it look so nice. Apparently, I’m not as tech savvy as I like to think I am.

1-to-do-list

I will say I have made mine to where I have my four classes with assignments due every week and my work tasks due every week as well. As I said you can keep track of anything!

Side note they call them keeping notes and have checklists to check off what you have completed. You can even access it from your phone, although I have tried it and it does not look the same as on the computer. I do think that’s my favorite part of it all!

I would highly recommend doing this, especially if you feel just as unmotivated as I’ve been to complete your assignments or anything else like a grocery list.
