As we transform our spring courses to online delivery, some changes will need to take place to help us successfully navigate the rest of this semester. We are following University guidelines and changing some of our resources and services to offer students, faculty, and staff find the help that they need in the transition.
For the health and safety of the Island community we have made the following changes:
At this time, the library will remain open Monday – Thursday 8am-8pm, We’ll be open 8am-5pm on Friday and closed for the weekends. Our Ask Us Services will move to virtual assistance. The biggest change here is that our face to face desk is currently unavailable – all other services are in place during building hours. We’ll also offer virtual help on Sundays from 12-6pm. The I-Create Lab will be open Monday – Friday 8am-5pm for projects and designs for your courses. We will limit the number of people in work rooms so safe distance can be maintained.
We’ve closed some of our group spaces. In order to maintain a healthy distance, we’ve closed the first and second floor computer labs, the Daily Read Café, and all our group study rooms. We’ve taken computers offline, spacing available computers at a safe distance from each other.
All workshops, events, and group activities have been cancelled until further notice.
Special Collections and Archives will be closed to visitors. Please reach out via telephone 361-825-4500 and email specialcollections@tamucc.edu to arrange for virtual services when possible.
All items with a due date of March 9th or later will not be considered late. We will waive fines and turn overdue notices off until May 31st.
We’re working hard to move all course reserves to e-reserves to assist with access. If the items are unavailable in an electronic format, we will continue to check out these items. If you have questions about accessing a particular title, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
While we are no longer conducting face to face instruction sessions, please reach out to your librarian for assistance! Take advantage of our online help and don’t forget to check out our Research Guides.
As we continue to learn and grow this semester, we’ll keep you updated with any changes or revisions to our services and resources. Stay healthy, Islanders. Let us know how we can help!
