Gathering Resources for our LGBTQIA+ Guide
The Bell Library is currently working on expanding our Social Justice Resource guides to cover a wide range of topics. Our most recent guide is our LGBTQIA+ Social Justice Resources Guide.
Below I ‘m going to walk through the guide to share more about how we have organized it and about the different types of sources we’ve gathered!
Books & Online Resources
These tabs contain resources, items, and services that we have right here in the Bell Library.
In our “Books” tab, we’ve pulled some titles from our eBook, Main, and Popular Reading collections for you to explore. (I currently have “In the Dream House” by Carmen Maria Machado on my to-read list!)
Our “Online Resources” tab has links to our library’s online streaming media, journals, and databases. I’ve been wanting to check out the Pride Month category on our streaming service, Kanopy, which is accessible with our IslandID!
On the Web & Get Involved
These tabs have resources that we found online, outside of the Bell Library’s resources.
Under our “On the Web” tab, we have collected links to webpages, articles, videos, and podcasts related to LGBTQIA+ topics. Under “Get Involved,” we’ve included information about legislation, rights, and protesting for getting involved in advocacy and activism. We have links to on-campus, local, and national organizations under this tab as well. I’m personally excited to learn more about the resources that we have on-campus and in the Corpus Christi area!
Suggest a Resource and Share your Thoughts!
If you can think of any resources that you would like to submit to add to the guide, along with comments, ideas, or suggestions, please share with us by emailing bell.library@tamucc.edu.
This goes for our Black Lives Matter and Asian American and Pacific Islander Resource guides as well! We greatly appreciate any input, conversations, and ideas for collaboration!
Wishing you a safe and happy Pride Month, Islanders!!
